Low TCR, higher accuracy

Quality, precision, and in particular reliable robustness even under difficult conditions, are the essential criteria on which designers base their decisions about components, particularly in the world of automotive engineering: located close to engines, for example, components are exposed to oil, dirt and heat- a combination that can pose a serious threat to the immaculate long-term functionality of components.

Even though applications are becoming increasingly digital in new generations of devices and many functions are defined by the implemented software, nothing in the world would work without precise, high-quality passive components such as resistors, neither in the automotive industry nor in the industrial or housing sector.

To withstand such unfavourable conditions, resistors such as Panasonic Industry's ERJU series consist of an alloy of palladium and silver in their internal terminals that prevents them from sulphurising and malfunctioning under severe exposure.

Recently, Panasonic Industry launched the latest member of the ERJU resistor series called ERJU-RD, the new resistor expands the company's portfolio of Anti-Sulfurated Thick Film Chip resistors and features a lower temperature resistance coefficient than the entire existing product range.

The thick film resistive element with metal enamel and three electrode layers are an essential feature of this resistor group and guarantee state-of-the-art reliability for a wide range of projects.

Main features
  • High resistance to sulphurisation thanks to Ag-Pd-based internal electrode
  • High accuracy due to resistance tolerance ± 0.5%. TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance):±50 ×10-6/℃
  • Thick-film resistive element design with metal enamel and three electrode layers ensure high reliability, even under difficult conditions
  • Highly relevant for automotive or industrial applications due to AEC-Q200 and RoHS compliance
Comments

"Thanks to the Ag-Pd-based internal electrode, ERJU resistors have proven to be highly resistant to sulphidation in the 85 °C oil immersion test scenario," summarises Takeshi Ichihara, Team Leader of Product Management at Panasonic Industry in Munich. "TheERJU-RD as the latest addition to the family impresses with a reliable TCR of ±50 ×10-6/℃. It is this feature in particular that makes the ERJU-RD an attractive component for a wide range of applications that are intended to operate under a variety of physical stresses such as heat, oil or vibration".
