Complete audio system using A2B Audio Bus technology

Analog Devices has unveiled a complete audio system that features SHARC Audio Module (SAM) for creating digital audio devices, including audio FX processors, multi-channel audio systems, MIDI synthesizers and other DSP-based audio systems.

The SAM includes the ADSP-SC589 dual-SHARC+ core SoC audio processor (with an integrated Arm Cortex-A5 core) and takes advantage of Analog Devices' A2B audio bus technology.

In addition to the main board of the SHARC sound module, ADI offers daughter boards to provide additional functionality to the main board and expand the sound system.

The Audio Project Fin board connects directly to the main board, providing MIDI input/output, and has buttons and potentiometers to adjust audio effects.

The A2B module is equipped with two high-efficiency class-D amplifiers for digital audio data output, the reception of which is via theA2Btwisted-pair bus from PDM microphones and/or serial TDM sources on the main board (or anotherA2Bnode connected to the bus).

This complete system delivers high-fidelity multi-channel digital audio with low latency and deterministic for a fully synchronized distributed audio system.

The system is ideal for rapid prototyping, evaluation projects, demos and educational applications.

It allows users faster time-to-market with "ready-to-go" prototyping that provides a complete hardware and software solution.
