Powell Electronics stocks Harwin's new high reliability Kona power connectors.
Highly durable and capable of providing 60 A continuous current per contact, Kona connectors support battery charging applications without having to split the current over several contacts.
Harwin's Kona connectors benefit from a six-finger beryllium copper contact design with full gold plating and an 8.5mm pitch.
Components are individually wrapped on both male and female versions, preventing accidental contact and physical damage.
Designed for use in harsh environments, the devices rely on a robust cable-to-board design to maintain electrical continuity during strong vibrations and shocks.
Equipped with stainless steel knurled head screws on the female connector housing, the power connectors can be easily repaired without tools.
Kona connectors also use an innovative pre-lock mating mechanism that ensures the contacts are fully mated before engaging the fasteners.
The robust connectors offer a lifetime of 250 mating cycles, a wide operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C and a maximum nominal voltage of 5kV.
Available in a single row of two, three or four contacts, the devices are ideal for a wide range of uses in extreme conditions, including power control systems, robotic drives, electric vehicle battery monitoring and management, satellites and UAVs.
