RECOM has launched a new family of cost-effective, surface-mount, regulated DC/DC converters named R5M, R3M, R2M and R1M, and with power ratings of 5W, 3W, 2W and 1W, respectively.
The DC/DC converters feature a usual size enclosure footprint 13.2 x 9.1 mm and height 10.2 mm, with the R2M additionally available with through-hole DIP8 package.
All products operate on a 4:1 input range of 9-36 VDC or optionally 18-75 VDC, while the R3M, R2M and R1M series also additionally include the 4.5-18V range.
The available, fully regulated single outputs are 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 24V, while the dual outputs are +/-5V, +/-12V and +/-15V.
Rated insulation for all is 1.6kV/1min, no minimum load is needed, and continuous short-circuit protection is included along with an on/off control pin.
Advanced circuitry and thermal design result in high efficiency, peaking at 84%, allowing operation in environments of at least 100°C with derating and up to 90°C at full load for the 1W converter and up to 50°C for the 5W converter.
The minimum temperature is -40°C. EMC limits of classes A and B of EN 55032 can be met with only a few external components, and reliability is high, e.g., 8.5 mln, for the 1W converter, in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217F, GB, 25°C.
All products are covered by RECOM's three-year warranty and are available in tube packages.
